ONLE is a visionary artist from Rio de janeiro, Brazil. From an early age, he displayed talent and sensitivity, embarking on his musical journey at the age of eight. With his flute in hand, he captivated audiences at Lions Club events and school performances, interpreting timeless classics such as Somewhere Over the Rainbow, My Heart Will Go On, and compositions by Beethoven. These early steps planted the seeds for a creative expression that now encompasses music, film, photography, literature, and fashion—a fusion of arts that forms his unique and innovative vision.
In 2007, ONLE faced the profound loss of his mother to cancer—a moment of deep sorrow and reflection that transformed his worldview and inspired a redefinition of his art. This experience drew him closer to social causes, such as his philanthropic effort in 2022, when he donated signature scarves and toys to children undergoing cancer treatment at INCA, bringing comfort and joy during challenging times.
Between 2008 and 2009, ONLE worked at MultiRio, a municipal educational communication company, where he honed his skills in audiovisual material handling and administrative tasks. His dedication was recognized in 2009 when he passed an exam and got a scholarship to a prestigious school in Rio de Janeiro to attend high school. In 2012, he enrolled at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) to study Social Communication with a focus on Cinema. Despite taking nearly two years off from his studies, he graduated in 2019, with his thesis giving birth to his book, Vertente.
ONLE's cinematic journey includes impactful works. In 2013, he directed an interview with actress Roberta Rodrigues, known for her role in City of God and her performances in various Brazilian films and television shows. This experience highlighted his sensitivity in capturing authentic perspectives. In 2018, he directed Camaleoa, a fashion film that explores fluidity, transformation, and the art of self-expression—a theme that resonates throughout his creative universe. Between 2018 and 2019, ONLE also participated in several fictional productions and created short films with a poetic language, solidifying his artistic and reflective style. Other cinematic projects, such as Behind the Wheel, which offers a unique view of the lives of taxi drivers in Rio, and Invisible Lines, which narrates the journey of Venezuelan refugees, showcase his commitment to documentary narratives that reveal the soul of the streets.
In 2021, ONLE released a book of poetry and documentary photography, intertwining words and images to create a sensitive and powerful narrative that reflects the essence of his work. In music, his releases, including the EPs Whisky In Rio (2021) and Crazy Poetry Song (2023), as well as the single CHACHA (2023), feature a blend of urban and poetic sounds, echoing the contrasts and complexities of the human experience in a global context.
Beyond screens and music, ONLE connects with the world through acts of solidarity and visual pieces that express his identity and purpose. His creations reflect a deep commitment to culture and society, aiming to inspire and provoke reflection through a visceral and sophisticated aesthetic.
The universe of ONLE is a kaleidoscope of influences and inspirations, where art serves as a bridge between the intimate and the collective. He invites his audience to explore the unknown and question the familiar, celebrating the diversity of perspectives that only art can offer.
